Thrust & Parry is a political blog and commentary site that focuses on aspects of the political landscape not often commented upon. It features a Blog; writings on classical writers such as Blaise Pascal, GK Chesterton and others; political theories and maxims, including one I call Shawkey's Maxim.
The Conch borrows the concept in the Lord of the Flies - that he who holds The Conch gets to speak. Readers will discover what The Conches are and who holds them.
Iron Sharpening Iron is dedicated to keeping the new gatekeepers - the leading talk show hosts and commentators - on their toes. Some readers will recognize the Scriptural reference to this section. My thanks go out to these pioneers and leaders but I believe they must be "sharpened" or they will become dull and less effectual.
Blogs within this Blog will be something fairly unique. It will contain blogs of others who want to participate more closely in one or two of the above sections than just being linked to an outside blog. They will be "participating blogs" who will desire to be closer to the hunt, feeding in their comments within this blog. Stay tuned.
